An opportunity exists for a Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Department at Penn State Health - Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (HMC) in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This advanced level clinical position will aid in ensuring the section runs smoothly when the Chief Technologist is unavailable. They will also be responsible for ensuring the Nuclear Medicine department adheres to all Nuclear Medicine, State, and Federal Regulations. At HMC, our Nuclear Medicine Department includes equipment such as 4 gamma cameras, 2 SPECTCT cameras, and 1 PETCT camera. This is a full-time, day shift position with varied hours.
Daily patient schedules and facilitates any adjustments to schedule
Monitors patient and staff satisfaction and assists with action plan development and implementation
Provides feedback to the Chief Technologist regarding the orienting technologists performance progress
Checks patient's studies for completeness in the absence of the attending physician
Coordinates/facilitates patient flow and working with Central Transport to minimize delays
Assists physicians with various procedures and treatments (I131 Thyroid Ablation, Xofigo, and Lutathera)
Prepares radiopharmaceuticals in our USP797 Clean Lab
Serve as a professional role model to staff
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB
Three years of technical experience
