Responsible for all hospital and related subsidiary operations system-wide. Promotes the Penn State Health (PSH) mission, core values and vision through effective operational processes. Assists in the development of, and is responsible for, carrying out goals, objectives, plans and policies established by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Ensures hospital and related services are delivered in accordance with established quality standards and financial expectations. Represents Penn State Health (PSH) to various community, public and governmental organizations as requested.
Master's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or other advanced health or business related degree required.
10 years of progressive management experience in leading complex health-care and related operations, including experience with a demonstrated track record of superior operating and financial performance along with a record of growing profitable operations that produce quality outcomes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Extensive knowledge of and experience in the whole continuum of patient care (preventative, outpatient, inpatient, post acute, etc.).
Uncompromising reputation for honesty and integrity in everything he/she does.
Intimate knowledge of and experience in state and federal regulatory affairs.
Good business acumen and strong leadership skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong financial management skills.
Able to work effectively in multiple areas within a complex, multi-faceted organization.
Knowledge of information technology and management information systems.
Able to interface effectively with colleagues, Boards of Directors, staff at all levels of organization, medical staff, patients and their family members, consultants,
legislators, government officials, outside organizations and general public.
Able to develop cooperative and productive relationships with key contacts and constituencies.
Able to lead decision makers to consensus.
Must possess an understanding of people and a sense of accountability, fairness and consistency.
Experience as a senior leader for multiple hospitals and/or related services, including a regional and/or division senior leadership role.
Additional executive experience in healthcare-related strategic planning; service line development, physician practice management, and managed care contracting.
