J OB SUMMARY:
T he Heart & Vascular Institute Observation Unit (HVOU) is a 15 bed unit caring for patients of floor and intermediate acuity. The HVOU serves the cardiovascular electrophysiological patient population who have undergone related diagnostic, interventional, and structural procedures.
T he nurse will provide pre and post procedural care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and electrophysiological procedures, Monday through Friday, 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. The staff nurse is responsible for delivering individualized, holistic, and patient centered care to all HVOU patients to include, but not limited to: assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of nursing care.
T his position will require occasional Saturday morning coverage to discharge patients kept overnight for post-procedural observation. Our experienced and compassionate team consists of Patient Care Secretaries (PCS), Registered Nurses, Charge Nurses, a Clinical Staff Leader (CSL), Nurse Manager, and multiple on-site Advanced Practitioners (CRNP). Our goal is to provide the highest level of patient centered care that is safe and family oriented.
A s a valued member of the HVOU team, we encourage and support continual educational and career growth through degree advancement, clinical ladder and council participation, along with initial and continuation of specialty certification.
O rientation is generally 12 weeks in duration depending on prior experience and individual readiness.
M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
R egistered Nurse with a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania or a Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit
6 months of experience working as a RN
P REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
B LS and ACLS
T elemetry experience
B achelor's Degree
3 -4 years of IMC or ICU experience
P rofessional certification
P HYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
A ble to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently
A ble to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
A ble to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
A ble to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
A ble to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
