The West Haven, CT Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting full-time Medical Technologists (Generalists) to evaluate, interpret, correlate, and validate the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results. The work performed is in a variety of lab disciplines, such as specimen processing, chemistry (may include endocrinology and toxicology), coagulation, hematology, immunology, serology, and urinalysis. Calibrate, standardize, adjust and maintain instruments. Testing procedures are performed on a variety of biological specimens using manual or automated techniques and require a broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility with minimal technical supervision.
Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm; ONLY 1 out of 4 weekends. Shift, weekend & holiday pay differentials!
Completion of a medical technology clinical practice program
Certification as a MT, MLS, or CLS given by the ASCP-BOC, ASCP-BOR, or AMT.
Preferred Experience: At least two years of current experience is required.
Assistance with payment of outstanding MT related Bachelor's Degree student loans may be available!
