JOB TITLE: Supervisor Revenue Management LOCATION: Glenmaura Office Building DEPARTMENT: My Visit WORK SCHEDULE: Days (M-F; 8:30AM – 5:00PM) WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE) JOB SUMMARY: This position will provide centralized supervisory support for all Revenue Cycle authorization specialists with respect to the Geisinger Health System (GHS) and community physician network. This position supervises and implements programs to insure efficient operations of the Geisinger Health System Revenue Cycle program in order to generate "world class" patient satisfaction and sufficient cash flow to support GHS operations and strategic initiatives.
In the position of Supervisor, Authorization Specialist (MyVisit) responsibilities include, but not limited to, overseeing, collecting, adjudicating, identifying, analyzing, reducing and resolving various physician and patient service issues associated with authorization process. These responsibilities further include the daily supervision of employees in regards to the collection and securing of authorizations.
Plans, coordinates and organizes the overall activities of the Revenue Cycle MyVisit Authorization department. Maintains good public relations throughout the department, trains and evaluates subordinates; sets objectives and measures results; recommends policy and procedural changes and additions.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
Directly accountable to the Manager, MyVisit (Pre-Financial Clearance). COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates a positive, supportive, respectful and helpful attitude in interactions with all department customers (patients, physicians, visitors and other healthcare team members).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financial, business, or related field required. Minimum of five years Business Office experience in health care (preferably) or revenue management required.
In lieu of degree, may consider a minimum of 10 years of revenue management, finance, or related experience required.
Extensive knowledge of the revenue cycle, payer rules, and/or regulatory requirements as they relate to revenue management/authorizations required.
Significant experience with payers, providers, hospitals and physicians and an understanding of the commensurate requirements for facilitating authorizations for various service lines.
Must be knowledgeable in medical insurance coverages, CPT, and ICD-10 coding, federal and state assistance programs, accounting and general office procedures.
Customer/patient/front end service skills required. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
Ability to travel periodically to various locations as work permits.
