Responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and evaluating activities for effective and efficient operations of the Research Contracts department. Responsibilities include assisting in performing business and financial analysis, lead role for managing contracting activities, developing project specific budgets, developing management tools to track staff capacity/utilization, project portfolio, and financial planning. In addition, the incumbent will support Principal Investigators and/or study team internally within the Geisinger System and externally with sponsors including but not limited to experts from academia, health care systems, government, and the pharmaceutical and device industry, as appropriate. The incumbent will also work closely with leadership to improve business performance and support business model innovation. The candidate will also establish, support and troubleshoot research activities involving contracts and centralized study start up activities. The Manager, Research Contracts will ensure centralized research contracts needs are met, across all campuses by collaborating with Investigators, Research Study Staff, Sponsors and key-stakeholders.
Report to the Senior Director, Research Administration and Strategic Initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a relevant field required.
Minimum of three years of related industry research contracts negotiation experience required.
Experience in budgeting large multi-faceted projects required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Clinical Research Contract Professional Certification required or obtained within twelve (12) months of employment.
Experience in negotiating governmental contracts preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Position may involve driving as required based on organizational structure.
