Search underway for the Executive Director of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). ACEP is a professional organization of emergency medicine physicians in the United States. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors, and as the senior leader is responsible for the operational and strategic leadership of the organization to ensure the long-term success and perpetuation of the College. Working in collaboration with the Board, the elected officers, and, as indicated, other leaders of the College such as Committee Chairs, the Executive Director is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring the strategic plan to advance the College’s mission and objectives. Key responsibilities include promoting revenue generation, net-revenue realization and growth of the College’s membership and associated services. The ACEP Executive Director will have a track record of attracting, retaining and inspiring a highly effective and empowered staff while fostering a respectful work environment.

Candidates must have an advanced degree and extensive experience with administration or association management. He/She will have a record of working successfully with a nationally active Board of Directors. Have a distinguished record of executive leadership with successful management of a large, complex organization, preferably with a medical association or organization in the healthcare field. Understanding of emergency medicine, hospital-based care, and hospitals is preferred. The ideal candidate is a politically sensitive collaborative leader with strong strategic vision and critical thinking skills.
