Supports patients and providers within the outpatient setting by performing basic direct patient care activities. Performs duties to support the efficient functioning of the department including supply and equipment inventory, ordering and stocking. Facilitates seamless care for pediatric sleep patients and their families.Ensures effective and timely use of resources to address identified needs.
Cleans rooms between patients, helps maintain an organized patient care environment and provides support services including scheduling, tracking coding for the multi-disciplinary sleep program to improve coordination of care and testing.
Responsible for supporting quality patient care and providing excellence in patient experience.
Accountable to the clinic or department operational leadership and works generally under the supervision of the clinical staff.

Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, accepts responsibility for continuing education to broaden skills and knowledge and demonstrates ability to work effectively with patients, families and providers.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team of environment to be flexible and maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of sleep practice and procedures with ability to coordinates patient flow through the sleep clinic, triage referrals and track studies, cancellations, no shows.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School degree or equivalent required.
Completion of orientation for the Medical Assistant.
Certification of Basic Life Support (CPR) required within 3 months of hire.
Previous experience in health care setting preferred, but not required.
Sleep experience preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
Staff may have access to non-controlled medications storage/supply areas and can transport non-controlled medications as necessary to meet the needs of the clinic/unit.
