Manages medium to large-scale projects with a focus on project planning, tracking, reporting and change control. Works collaboratively with project stakeholders and functional managers to develop project goals and objectives, sets project timelines, and controls scope. Manages multiple projects concurrently, and manages project change and interventions to achieve strategic Achieving Excellence objectives in conjunction with Operations and key colleagues. Responsible for aligning data analytics, resources and managing project artifacts. Leads project teams in collaboration with Achieving Excellence and functional area leadership, to execute project plans and achieve project goals and objectives on time and within budget. Reports and appropriately escalates project progress, KPIs, issues and solutions to project stakeholders and Achieving Excellence leadership.
Secondary responsibilities include assisting with the identification, dissemination and scaling of best practices as identified through project execution.
Directly accountable to the Director, Achieving Excellence Project Management Office.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead medium to large-scale projects using a standardized methodology.
Demonstrated knowledge of and practical application of formal project management methodologies, including PMI’s PMBOK Guide.
Demonstrates computer capabilities in retrieval and analysis of operational and financial data, and project management systems (e.g., MS Project).
Demonstrated effective project management including team management, strong negotiation and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively; possesses strong presentation skills.
Demonstrated capability to successfully handle multiple project teams and multiple tasks simultaneously and under strict deadlines.
Demonstrated high level of initiative and independence.
Demonstrated experience working in a matrixed environment is required.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead/facilitate multidisciplinary teams to achieve targeted results.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, throughout all levels of the system.
Experience in health care is preferred.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum six (6) years of experience managing projects in a lead role or working on successful projects required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) required.
Minimum two years related healthcare experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Travel throughout the Health System required.
