SandyPines is a 149 bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Johnathan Dickinson State Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. SandyPines is at the county line of both Palm Beach and Martin Counties and is just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA, BCaBA, or FL-CBA. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence.

Direct implementation of behavior intervention plan/ behavior protocols for 10-12 residents throughout the facility.
Engage residents in 1:1 sessions to work on replacement behavior and adaptive skills
Collect ABC data in residents natural environment (in residential facility and on-site school)
Collect data and assist with graphing data as deemed appropriate by BCBA
Assist with reinforcer/preference assessments as needed
Communicate with BCBA on progress of resident's with behavior intervention plan/protocol
Assist in modeling and training behavior plan/protocol strategies/techniques in resident's natural environment
Has the ability to work a flexible schedule including some weekends and/or evening hours.
Works in close collaboration with the clinical department.
Adapts well to changing environment, new ideas, and new responsibilities.
Takes initiative and works autonomously within the parameters of the job description.
Accepts and constructively utilizes feedback from supervisors and co-workers.
Understands impact of mental illness and trauma on resident's behavior and provides care accordingly; Understands normal physical, cognitive, behavioral and emotional development of childhood and adolescence and provides care accordingly.
Maintains up to date certification in CPR.
Maintains up to date certification in SAMA.
