The Kentucky Lions Eye Bank is looking for a Tissue Processing Technician to work from the Louisville, KY office. The Tissue Processing Technician will be responsible for evaluation of donor ocular tissue for transplant using slit lamp and specular microscopy, packaging and shipping of donor blood specimens, recovery of ocular tissue from cadaver donors across the state of Kentucky, and other assigned duties. The Tissue Processing Technician will need the below qualifications to be considered.
-Associates degree in a science or healthcare related field(can be substituted with one year healthcare experience)
-Must be flexible in work hours
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be detail oriented
-Valid drivers license
-Ability to work with cadavers performing a physical exam and the surgical removal of ocular tissue
-Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
-Phlebotomy experience a plus
This position is a full time non-exempt position working 40 hours a week but may exceed specified hours. The position will report to the Clinical Services Manager and work out of the Louisville office with travel to the Lexington office as needed.
