Wilmington Eye is seeking a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist to succeed our current pediatric ophthalmologist who hasretired. This opportunity is to join the area’s largest and most experienced ophthalmology group. Our practice has over 40 years of service to our community and we pride ourselves on providing high quality, ethical patient care. We are a high volume ophthalmic practice with 3 comprehensive ophthalmologists, 3 sub-specialists (pediatrics, oculoplastics and cornea), and 4 optometrists. Our facilities include a 23,000 square foot main office and two satellite offices. The main office currently has long lanes for pediatric use and a separate pediatric waiting room. The offices are very well equipped including topography, Lenstar, IOLMaster, Topcon OCT, Humphrey VF, HRT III, yag/Argon lasers and the iLASIK platform. Our staff is very well trained with an average tenure of 9 years. Our community is located between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean. The area is home to a large health care community, a level I trauma center, manufacturing companies and a thriving services industry. Our area schools boast many achievements with options in public, private and charter schools. We are home to the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College. Outdoor activities abound in our temperate climate. Pediatric ophthalmology has been a part of the practice since 2000. We brought on a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist in 2005 and the demand for pediatric services has increased each year. Our current pediatric ophthalmologist will retire unexpectedly at the end of September 2016. Our current practice includes well established referral patterns for surgical cases. The service mix does include adult strabismus. Current patient volume in our pediatric clinic is 400 patients per month. Surgical volume averages over 25 patients per month. This will be a full-time pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, partner-track position. Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience; partnership track.
