Lions Eye Institute for Transplant & Research is seeking a strategic and collaborative executive to serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role requires significant leadership, skill and ability. The COO will be accountable for the overall success of operations of the Institute. Attention given to systems, program development, quality, fiscal management, compliance and clinical management measures, client relationships, outreach strategies, work culture enhancement and internal communication and consensus-building. The position is responsible for directing and preparation of operational performance reporting including comparison to appropriate benchmarks and deploying them in reporting and performance goal setting which includes operational data analysis, including the preparation of proformas and retrospective and prospective performance studies. The position is responsible for continuously monitoring, evaluating and communicating the operational status of the Institute so that the information may be acted upon promptly and effectively. Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and highly relevant experience required. • Master’s Degree preferred. • Minimum ten (10) years eye bank or organ/tissue donation experience required.
