The Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking a full-time staff physician at theOklahoma City VA Health Care System (OKC VAHCS). The OKC VAHCS is a tertiary care facility serving Oklahoma and part of northern Texas and an integral part of the educational and research mission of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
The physician will participate in inpatient quality care, teaching, and research related activities. He/she will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance and management of patients with a variety of general internal medicine conditions. He/she will participate in the education and supervision of trainees. Research experience is preferred. This position will also have dedicated administrative time to serve as the Assistant to the Chief of Medicine.
Work Schedule: Variable Basic Requirements:
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience: Board certified/eligiblephysician.
