Position Summary: The Emergency Department is dedicated to the most advanced and personalized medical and nursing care. The patient population consists of the most complex acute patients that include and are not limited to stroke patients, cardiac referrals, pre- and post- transplant patients as well as common medical and surgical cases. Mayo Clinic Florida is a SCPC Chest Pain Accredited Center, VAD Center, TJC Accredited Stroke Center, ACHA Comprehensive Stroke Center as well as Transplant Center.
Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department will provide leadership, supervisory and managerial support to the Allied Health Staff in the department. Flexibility, resilience and a comfort in providing compassionate care to the population in crisis is essential. Professional communication skills are necessary in the environment of emergency care in collaborating with the Emergency Departmentâ??s interdisciplinary team as well as consulting services.
Additional responsibility will include:
Implementation of the vision, mission, and values of Mayo Clinic Florida and the Department of Nursing within defined areas of practice.
Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the operational, fiscal, and personnel activities within defined areas of practice to ensure the provision of quality patient care 24 hours a day.
Advocate for and allocates available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe, and compassionate nursing care based on current standards of practice.
Promote shared decision making on the unit level.
Act as a resource and facilitates collaboration between nursing personnel and other health care disciplines throughout the organization and within the healthcare community.
Contribute to the strategic planning process, and attainment of goals of the organization.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing (BSN) program required. Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency. Any additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Additional Qualifications: Masters in nursing preferred. A minimum of five years of hospital-related experience as a registered nurse preferred. Management experience preferred.
License or Certification: Current Florida RN license by time of start and BLS certification required.

The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $xxxx.xx, based on a full-time position. Hours/Pay Period: 80 Schedule Details: Full-time; 24 hour responsibility for the Emergency Department Weekend Schedule: Based on department/supervisory need.
