Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center (PSBHC) is an intensive inpatient mental/behavioral health program for males and females, ages 5 - 17 years old. We offer a highly structured supportive and safe environment for children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, family, and social challenges. The Hospital/Homebound school within the facility contracts with the Manatee County school district to provide a small classroom educational environment to residential patients. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a Hospital/Homebound site.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE/ WORK ENVIRONMENT The Math Teacher will structure a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the varied needs and interest of the students. The teacher will use their knowledge of student development to be flexible and responsive to student learning by adjusting lessons, responding to student individual needs, and persisting in providing a variety of approaches when students have difficulties. Knowledge of ESE process as all students acquire an IEP while in the Hospital/Homebound setting. Classroom is staffed with appropriate ratio of patient aides.
