Physical Therapist Lakeland Medical Center
Our department features Clinical ladder opportunities (Advanced or Expert Clinician), CEU in-house opportunities, emphasis on evidence-based practice, diagnostic services ensuring appropriate post care placement, diverse patient population and diagnoses, and two newly constructed state-of-the art facilities.
Role modeling through professional development, continuous learning, and improvement of competence in the practice of Physical Therapy.
Actively participating in team development, achieving dashboards, and accomplishment of department goals and objectives.
Performing the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of patients while providing an individualized plan of care, resulting in positive patient outcomes and effective resource utilization.
Ensuring that all patient documentation is complete, accurate, finished in a timely manner, and reflects patient response to treatment and changes in plan of care based on progress.
Initiating and coordinating patient education, equipment needs, and discharge planning according to identified needs.
Assessing patient/family comprehension of patient education and equipment and including them in the plan of care.
Communicating effectively with physicians and other team members, reporting significant findings in a timely and appropriate manner, and seeking input on plan of care.
Facilitating multidisciplinary collaboration of care by initiating appropriate consults when indicated.
Providing exceptional healthcare while maintaining good stewardship by effectively using departmental resources, demonstrating flexibility to meet patient workload, and maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency to ensure consistent patient care and positive outcomes.
Using measures to promote and maintain patient, visitor, and staff safety, including the appropriate use of infection-control principles and personal-protection equipment.
Education, Experience, and Licensure
Successful applicants will each possess a bachelor's degree, current licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Florida, and certifications per department or hospital requirements and relevant policies. One or more years of acute care experience, a master's degree, and graduation from an accredited program for physical therapy are preferred.
