Assures that Residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to register complaints, are followed.
Follows all established safety procedures and precautions. Reports all unsafe/ hazardous conditions, and/ or defective equipment to Manager. Reports all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to Manager.
Creates and coordinates a comprehensive program which addresses the six dimensions of wellness: physical, intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, and vocational.
Oversees and provides visionary, compassionate leadership for the Wellness and Transportation departments.
Oversees the implementation and coordination of Resident events and programs.
Ensures viable age-appropriate fitness/classes addressing age-related health issues.
Manages budget of campus-wide Wellness and Transportation programs in a fiscally sound manner.
Develops a calendar of wellness programs that are meaningful and helpful to others as well as developing and working from a business plan that focuses on all aspects of operations.
Monitors wellness programs, communicates policies, provides feedback, and assists, observes, and coaches as needed.
Oversees the coordination of programming for spiritual and emotional wellness, i.e., staff, chaplain, other outside support personnel.
Ensures that departmental policies/procedures are followed.
Assists in developing, providing, and utilizing various forms of communication with Residents, staff and the community, which can include: newsletters, calendar of events, weekly updates, flyers, or special event announcements.
Actively participates in an environment that allows for creative thinking, problem solving and empowerment in the development of an activities and wellness team.
Oversees the Transportation Program for routine and non-routine transportation needs.
Exhibits positive customer service to both internal and external customers.
Participates daily with Fleet Landing Residents during programs, activities, or events to determine activity likes and dislikes, as well as program and service quality.
Participates in job related committee meetings and conferences.
Assists in enriching Resident life by providing opportunities for creativity, self-expressions, self-satisfaction, fun, and self-fulfillment.
Maintains a working knowledge of and ensures compliance with all environmental, federal, state, and local governmental rules and regulations.
Assists in developing positive relationships on behalf of Fleet Landing with government regulators, Residents, families, visitors, and the community at large as well as serving as a resource of information to the community related to activities, wellness, and transportation services.
Utilizes the quality improvement process in all areas of the activities, wellness, and transportation operations.
Demonstrates hospitality, is approachable, open and friendly.
Shows compassion and genuine empathy and sensitivity toward others.
Shows integrity and ethical behavior.
Demonstrates the spirit and mission of Fleet Landing.
Performs other job-related instructions and duties requested by the Senior Director of Independent Living Operations.
Minimum Education Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing Wellness Programs and Event Planning in a similar environment. Previous Senior Living experience required, as well as a passion for serving older adults. Demonstrated knowledge, skill and ability in proficient use of office equipment and correct use of grammar in business correspondence. Demonstrated proficient use of Microsoft Office, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Microsoft Publisher, Power Point, or other presentation software, and Internet resources. Proven ability to function and excel in team environment; must have excellent supervisory skills and ability to coach/mentor staff.Relocation stipend considered for qualified candidates.
