The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) is located in Seattle, Washington and is a level 1A health care system. Staffed by approximately 4300 FTEE, the VAPSHCS provides a full range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology, plus education and research. The VA Puget Sound Health Care System in Seattle, WA, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, is recruiting for two full time Diagnostic radiologists who will be appointed to the Medical Staff of VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and assigned to Diagnostic Imaging Service. This position will be filled by independent licensed practitioners who hold a full and unrestricted license in any state. Radiologists will be board certified or board eligible in the practice of radiology by the American Board of Radiology.
A specialist in diagnostic radiology provides direct patient care in a hospital setting to adults with acute and chronic medical conditions and serves as a consultant to other physicians. The radiologist is experienced in interpretation of diagnostic radiologic studies generated in the sub-modalities of computed tomography, general radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasonography.
Duties of the position include but are not limited to:
performance of procedures such as biopsies, myelography, arthrography, intravenous pyelography and barium studies.
In the event that the candidate selected receives an academic appointment, he/she will be expected to provide education, training, mentoring and supervision to radiology residents and fellows in the context of shared residency and fellowship programs with the UW
Provide education and training to members of the medical staff through various conferences , committees and, lecture series.
May be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational and administrative committees, task groups or special projects.
Significant experience with body CT and MRI interpretation, or has recently completed a fellowship in Body or Thoracic Imaging.
Ability to interpret Nuclear Medicine examinations, including PET/CT, is desirable.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., although holidays and weekends will apply for on-call coverage.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred candidates for this position must hold an M.D. (or foreign degree equivalent) in the field and possess or be eligible for full medical licensure in Washington State.
Preferred successful candidates must hold American Board of Radiology Certification
