CORPORATE COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

(Supervisors/Managers) Ensures that staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.
Provide professional acupuncture services in the St. Maryï¿½s Regional Cancer Center through assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation of clients. Meet the needs of clients and the multi-disciplinary team through communication, coordination, and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health.
Provides active input to the development of ideas and action plans to improve the scope of work.
Perform acupuncture on selected cancer patients based upon evidenced-based acupuncture principles.
Assess, treat, and evaluate clients of Integrative services within the scope of the Acupuncturists Practice Act for the State of Colorado.
Communicate effectively with an interdisciplinary team including client, family, physician, referral sources, team members, peers, support staff and management through written and verbal means.
Document according to department policies and applicable regulations.
Facilitate the delivery of age related care skills as defined by area patient population.
Assist in creating a calm and healing environment for clients and staff.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and requirements.

REQUIRED CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE (* indicates primary source verification requirement
Graduate of an accredited or approved school of acupuncture or traditional Chinese medicine with a minimum of 2500 hours of training required.
Three (3) years of experience practicing as an acupuncturist preferred.
Registered acupuncturist in the State of Colorado required.
Completes basic and core specific competencies /skills by the end of orientation.
Ongoing demonstration of unit specific competencies/skills, including patient charting in an Electronic Medical Record.
Demonstrates clean needle technique
Demonstrates understanding of medication reconciliation when prescribing Chinese Herbal formulas.

PREFERRED CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE
Acupuncturist with experience in an integrated clinic or healthcare setting, specifically an oncology clinic, is preferred.
Experience with public speaking and presentations preferred.
MATERIAL/ EQUIPMENT INVOLVED
Acupuncture needles and equipment, computers, telephone, FAX machine, copier, printer and other office equipment and supplies.
